Site Progress in Buckland

Works are progressing well at a project of ours in Buckland, near Broadway. The scope of the project includes a deep retrofit to improve the thermal and airtightness performance of a relatively modern property, plus the installation of low carbon tech (air source heat pump, PVs, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery).

The existing house was constructed in 2015, however due to very poor workmanship at the time the client has stuggled with leaks, draughts, failing windows and doors and other niggles since they moved in. The house has undergone a full stip out of finishes to allow the team to rectify the insulation and air infiltration. The image below shows an interesting product we are using to improve the airtightness – a spray-on liquid airtight membrane called Purple Passive which claims to achieve Passivhaus levels of airtightness without the difficulty of wrapping all the existing juctions with a sheet membrane. We are looking forward to the blower-door test to see how it is performing!
