Wood Norton Hotel, Evesham

Architects Dyer are currently working with the owners of this historic Grade II* listed country house hotel to refurbish and extend a disused Victorian lodge into a luxurious spa and wellness centre. Our design includes a new two-storey extension which sits discretely behind the existing building, which works with the sloping topography to provide a new entrance at upper level, with reception and relaxation space giving access to the spa treatment rooms at first floor, and a new lift and stairs to access the wet spa facilities at ground floor level.

The wet spa will include a steam room, sauna, plunge pool, shower experience and jacuzzi, with direct access into the secluded ‘Onsen’ garden which takes inspiration from the Japanese hot springs baths. The garden is predominantly hard-landscaped, with soft landscaped borders around the perimeter of the space. Guest privacy is enhanced with the addition of a bespoke, perforated corten steel screen which encircles the garden.

A separate single-storey fitness centre is also proposed, to be located immediately to the north of the extended building.
