This week we have been developing the massing and materials strategy for a new detached dwelling in rural Gloucestershire. The massing reflects the internal separation of public and private spaces and the choice of materials responds to the existing agricultural context. The public rooms are expressed as a metal clad “barn” building and the sleeping accomodation expressed as a smaller “stables” wing. A glazed corridor links the two volumes.
